One of the most important and widely used chemicals in the world is sulfuric acid. This substance was first discovered from the distillation of green alum and copper (II) sulfate by Jaber Ibn Hayyan. Sulfuric acid is a very strong mineral acid known by various names: sulfur ink, battery acid, hydrogen sulfate, sulfin acid, vitriol oil and sulfuric acid.
This substance is naturally present in the gases emitted from the volcano. The structure of sulfuric acid consists of one sulfur atom, four oxygen atoms and two hydrogen atoms.
