What are AirPods?
Apple has released two versions of AirPods: the original AirPods (released in 2016) and the AirPods 2 (released in 2019). Visually, they look the same, but they have important differences. The first-generation AirPods use Apple’s original W1 wireless chip, while the AirPods 2 are based on the newer H1 wireless chip, which Apple claims is about twice as fast. A light to know if they’re in your ear and a microphone for phone calls and using Siri. AirPods come with a charging case that has an integrated battery to extend the phone’s battery life when away from a power outlet. The original AirPods case was charged with a cable, while the AirPods 2 offer an optional wireless charging case for an additional cost. Both versions of the AirPods have roughly the same overall battery life, meaning more than 24 hours of listening time, provided Let the AirPods fully charge inside the charging case. AirPods 2 offer slightly longer talk time on a single charge, roughly three hours instead of two.

Place them in your ear and hold the stem straight down so that it sits naturally in your ear canal. There are no electrical controls on the AirPods. Because they’re equipped with accelerometers and optical sensors, they know when they’re in your ears and are ready to go as soon as you put them on. In addition, when you remove them, they automatically stop the sound. Continue reading
